World Cherry Capital City 400 - Traverse City Michigan

This video show you an aerial view of the approximately 600 acres of land owned by one property owner up in Williamsburg Michigan. I have laid out a Grand Prix Road Circuit of over 4 miles on the property. The property lies immediately south of the Turtle Creek Casino Complex owned by the GTB Band of Indians. I have received 38 new unique visits to www.DowntownAcmeProgress.com from THE COUNTRY OF CHINA within the last 30 days.

Wouldn’t this be a great location for a Chinese Automotive manufacturer to place a plant up here in Northern Michigan and do a bunch of Green Racing and Alternative Energy Research and Testing (Solar and Hydrogen etc.) here? How many jobs might that be?

Do you think the Township in their “Placemaking Project” might be willing to admit that the Steckley property, just north of K-mart and across the Street from the Grand Traverse Resort might be worthy of rezoning for a Bass Pro or smaller version Cabela’s then?

Language from Acme Township Manager’s Most Recent Review of Project

08/19/11
Update of Acme Township recommendations to Rezoning Application. On page 14 of the 50+ page response from Acme Township, the ammended report added the material below as 1/2 of its new info.:

“Approximately one month ago, I was having a conversation with local landscape architect and planner Russ Clark. At the outset of his career, Russ was employed by the Grand Traverse Resort at the project’s initial creation by developer Paul Nine. He is therefore intimately acquainted with the early history of the project. In recent times he has also been a consultant to the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians, the current owner of the property, and so has decent current knowledge of the site as well.

We were discussing a range of township development issues, including this rezoning request. Russ informed me of two things that may be of interest. As mentioned in the paragraph above, my review of township records lead me to a conclusion that there was never any intent for the 80 B‐3 acres at the Resort to be commercial developed beyond their current level. His recollection based on involvement in the project at that time is substantially different, and he suggested that; the Township not discount the idea that at some point in time an owner of the property could seek additional concentrated commercial development as part of the Resort PUD based on that zoning.  I think his advice in this regard is sound”............... pg 14 of 55 Quote from Township's updated report on Rezoning Request and ammended on 8/19/2011.
